What Makes Up The Gelliflex® Abacus®

The Gelliflex® Abacus® is a gel-ball self-massage device designed for relief from finger/hand/arm aches and pains caused by overuse or repetitive activity. It includes the following components:

Gelliprene® Gel-balls

The Abacus® incorporates four interchangeable non-latex gel-balls in 52mm diameter with differing firmnesses: one soft purple, one firm blue, and two medium green. They are made of a soft elastomer material called Gelliprene™. This material provides the gel-balls with a better tactile and therapeutic feel supporting self-treatment techniques of squeezing, rolling, and compression in thousands of restorative combinations.

H-shaped Frame

A sturdy, wear resistant frame is shaped like an “H” and has a series of built-in slots that easily open and close to accommodate the different ball assemblies.

Axles & Axle Slots

You will have a total of 3 solid steel axles that can hold one or two balls depending on desired configurations. There are 6 axles on the front face (white side) of the Abacus® frame and 5 on the back (grey side). These slots are numbered – also with Braille designations for people with low vision. The axles lock in place thanks to the catch rail trigger.

6 Spacers

These are placed between the axles and gel-balls or between two gel-balls.

6 End Caps

These go at the end of each axle before placing them into the frame. You will need to remove these as you change out the gel-ball/spacer combinations.
